Our podcast is about explaining what proposition 57 is about and how inmates are affected after being in prison & make people think twice if they should vote for proposition 57. We interviewed William Kolkey to get the explanation of proposition 57 and get his opinion on proposition 57. We also interviewed Anthony Ceja so he could tell us how inmates are affected after being in prison.
What is this prop all about?
Prop. 57 focuses on law enforcement on serious violent crime, stops wasting costly prison space on non-violent people who can be rehabilitated. This means that inmates with non-violent crimes will spend less time in prison. People in prison could earn credit towards their sentences by working on rehabilitation in education, vocational training, and treatment. It basically increases parole and good behavior opportunities for felons convicted of nonviolent crimes and allowing judges, to decide whether if juveniles should be tried as adults in court.
