"I really got into gangs for respect, money, and girls, in the first place."
- Reginald Washington
What's this podcast all about?
For our podcast, we decided to focus on how prison can affect a person's life. We got in touch with a man named Reginald Washington who was sentenced to 15 years in prison for shooting someone. From there, we interviewed Reginald as he told his story and what prison has taught him.
What is Prop 57?
Proposition 57 is a prop that will allow prisoners who have committed non-violent crimes to get a hearing after they have completed their full sentence of their main offense. Felons would be able to get sentence credit if they complete rehab or education programs. Prop 57 will also allow judges to say whether a juvenile should be tried as a juvenile or as an adult rather than letting prosecutors decide.
